Nurturing Childcare Enrichment Programs & Services

For over 15 years, A + Childcare LLC in Pittsburgh, PA, has offered childcare services to the area's children. Register your child in one of our enrichment childcare programs and watch them develop the skills they need to be their best. We offer a variety of programs for ages 12 months and older.

Educational and Fun Activities for Every Group

Our team provides a hands-on learning environment in our enrichment programs. We also teach our children life skills that go beyond reading and writing. We encourage parent involvement and strive to develop a partnership between the parents and teachers.

Toddler Programs (12 Mos-2 Years Old)

Within this age group, our staff assists children in developing social and emotional skills through staged play and routine. Our learning environment teaches: 

  • How to self-identify (i.e., Child's name, age, family composition) 
  • Alphabets 
  • Encouraging sound through Nursery Rhymes 
  • Peer Socialization 
  • Repetition through Flash and Touch Cards 

Preschool Programs (3-5 Years Old)

Consist of utilizes the Pennsylvania Learning Standard and ongoing partnership with Head Start Programs by utilizing monthly lesson plans to provide children with an ongoing educational learning environment. Our staff provides this through the utilization of our Learning Tree, which includes, but is not limited to, topics such as: 

 

  • Academics 
  • Science 
  • History 
  • Family 
  • Day-to-Day Life Skills 

Playtime & Activities

A + Childcare LLC provides a variety of indoor and outdoor activities for children, including creative arts and crafts. A smock/over shirt will be provided for use during arts and crafts activities and bids for mealtimes. Please be sure to dress your child in durable play clothing and according to the weather. Sneakers are preferred for comfort. Please provide extra clothing for your child/ren–including a shirt, pants, an undershirt, underpants, and socks – in case of accidents.

Before & After School Care Programs, School Aged (5-12 Years Old)

A + Childcare LLC continues to get children in the Pittsburgh area excited and enthusiastic about beginning school. We provide before and after-school services. Our staff will assist your children with adequate supervision and support in completing their homework in a learning-enriched environment.

Summer Programs, We Offer Special Events & Field Trips During Summer Break

A + Childcare LLC also provides services for children when school is not in session during the summer months. We partner with the City of Pittsburgh Community Center, which is utilized for our children three days per week. Children participate in a Summer Movie program once per week, and we prioritize getting the children outside to enjoy our community's parks and activities throughout the summer. At A+ Childcare, we strive to keep our children active and busy, and we always use their imagination.

Program Inclusions

At A + Childcare LLC, we understand that getting your kids to and from school is difficult for working parents. That's why we offer all local schools convenient pickup and drop-off services. In addition, we offer breakfast, lunch, and snacks, with juice and milk, during program hours. Our center has wipes readily available to clean up little messes.

Parents Information 

Scheduling And Attendance

At A + Childcare LLC, every effort is made to accommodate the parents/ guardians. The parents are asked to submit their weekly schedule and make changes as soon as possible, by 11:00 PM on the Saturday of the week prior. Failure to submit your weekly schedule on time will result in a late–scheduling fee and a possible delay in Monday morning’s start time.

Late Drop-Offs

All clients enrolled at A + Childcare LLC must arrive by 9:30 AM; any enrollments after this designated time must provide some form of documentation, such as doctors, hospitalization, etc., to be permitted.

Late Pick Ups

  • Immediate notification is requested for all unscheduled late pick-ups.
  • Fees for late pick-ups shall be imposed as follows.

Absence

Parents/Guardians whose children are absent from A + Childcare LLC on scheduled days will be charged for each full day's services as though the child was present on that day.

Clothing And Supplies

Disposable training pants are required for all children still in toilet training.

Parents are responsible for providing the following:

  • Disposable training pants
  • Disposable diapers
  • Infant formula
  • Specialty foods
  • All extra clothing
  • Personal health-care items

Lunch & Snacks

At A+ Childcare LLC, we strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment for your children. Please note that we do not offer lunch as part of our services. Parents and guardians are kindly asked to provide lunch and snacks their children may need throughout the day. This ensures that each child enjoys meals that meet their dietary needs and preferences. 

Health & Medical

Medical and emergency information forms must be completed upon enrollment at A + Childcare. Immunizations must be kept current and on record.

To serve the best interests of each child and staff member by preventing the spread of illness and to aid in speedy recoveries, no child with any of the following conditions will be admitted to the center:

  • High fever (100 F or above/oral or rectal)
  • Pain
  • Vomiting
  • Severe runny nose
  • Disorientation and extreme lethargy
  • Severe cough
  • Known exposure to communicable
  • Untreated injury• Illness/disease

Should your child suddenly become ill while at the childcare facility, every effort will be made to contact you and provide the emergency numbers you provided. In case of illness, you or the child’s emergency contact are expected to make alternative accommodations for your children without delay. Any disease or other consequence to another child caused by a parent’s/guardian’s negligence or other failure to act shall result in your child’s suspension from the facility for a minimum period of one week or more extended until your child is no longer contagious. The standard childcare service rates shall still apply during suspensions.

 

The penalty for a person/guardian whose actions or negligence causes the illness of a staff member shall be a minimum two-week suspension of his/her child from the childcare facility. In such a case, parents/guardians are responsible for paying the regular fee for childcare services as though their child was present during the suspension.

Medication

Both nonprescription/over-the-counter remedies (such as Tylenol, cough medicine, etc.) will not be administered, and the A+ Childcare staff can administer doctor prescript medication to a sick child. The medication must be in its original container, clearly marked with the child’s name, required dosage, dosage timetable, and other instructions as necessary.
